While my current PC isn't that old (roughly 4 years) I figured it was time for an upgrade. The added Hard drive space and RAM will make running applications like Flash and Sony Vegas a lot easier.
Which brings me to my one concern.....
WINDOWS VISTA!!!
According to the site, since June this year, Windows XP has been officially discontinued and has been replaced by Windows Vista. I had either a choice of the premium or ultimate version. I went for premium.
Now, my main concern is the amount of negative press and horror stories involving Windows Vista that has been circulating around the net. Is it really that bad???
Please let me know. I'd hate to panic over nothing.

Now pay attention, I can only kill you once each.
I am a gamer, and i do only have good expreience with Vista (I'm using Home Premium 64-bit)
The only bad things is that many programs, hardware and "stuff" isn't working in Vista.
If you do have old hardware (like a old scanner or printer) it might not work with Vista.
But overall it's a good and usable OS.
It might take some time to find all the features in vista (like "Add/remove programs" is now called "Programs and features").
And if you are using Aero (transparent window effects) other programs might be verry slow.
And the UAC (User Account Control) is sometimes annoying.
You can disable it from "Control Panel>User Accounts>Turn User Account Control on or off".
There is many tweaks that can be done to make it run smoother. Use google and see for yourself XD

I would pluck the brighest rose from the fields of my greatest enemies for a woman as beautiful and lovely as you
I recently got Elder scrolls IV - Oblivion, Game of the year edition off ebay and I'm hoping my new PC will run it.
It has all the hardware specifics to make the game run fine, but I'm worried Vista will screw everything up.
