No, but you can have one person get a smash ball then, if you have the item-appearing-speed-thing-whatever on high the other person can get a smash ball too and then the double-finalsmash-fun begins :D

Actually, no. Only one smash ball will appear at any given time. I had Samus with the smash ball for 5 minutes and a second one never appeared until I had used her final smash.

Yeah, Either it's a glitch or they removed the ability from the European release of the game.
